One of A Kind Fishing

Fully hosted flyfishing trips in Magdelena Bay, Baja Sur Califonia. At The Reel Baja we strive to provide a complete, all-inclusive fishing experience from the moment you land in Loreto or San Jose Del Cabo, until you depart with tired arms from fighting the great fish of the Pacific Coast of Baja Mexico. Each day consists of flyfishing via boat for offshore species including Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado, and other pelagics or flyfishing inshore in the vast mangroves for Snapper, Snook, Grouper, and many other species. An experienced flyfishing guide will be

paired with two anglers and a skilled boat captain. The choice to fish offshore, inshore or in the mangroves will be made daily after consideration of fishing reports, weather conditions, and your desired species of big game fish.

Boats are modern center console pangas designed for efficient flyfishing, with captains well versed in operating specifically for flyfishing anglers. We provide and any and all gear necessary to be successful on the water. Whether you are a fully geared angler with an arsenal for all occasions or a newbie to saltwater fishing, we have you covered from 8-weight to 16-weight setups.

Accommodations

The accommodations are located in Lopez Mateos, in a private gated compound,

consisting of 3 modern casitas, along with the main house and a gear and boat garage. Each casita features two queen beds, a private bath, small kitchen, and a private porch. The casitas come with daily maid service. The compound has high speed internet, generator backup up power, and its own water filtration system. The common areas are lush with palm trees and center around a large palapa for relaxing and sharing fishing tales.

Chef Crystal

Chef Crystal and her staff will prepare three meals a day during your stay. Crystal has owned a restaurant in Los Barriles for over 12 years and brings unique one-of-a-kind gourmet dishes focused on local seafood and traditional Mexican fare, using natural organic foods and produce. Breakfast is full-service buffet spread including coffee, tea, and fresh juices. Boat launches are ordered the night before and prepared for each individual angler. At the end of your fishing day you will be greeted with appetizers, cold drinks and a limited bar. Dinners are a unique experience as Chef Crystal cooks the catches of the day on a mesquite grill, and specializes in dishes like shrimp, lobster, clams, scallops, and fish. She prepares traditional Mexican meals from scratch using fresh local ingredients and produces. Crystal is well-schooled in cooking for all dietary restrictions.
