The Fishing at Itati Lodge

The mythical Golden Dorado (salminus brasiliensis) is clearly the main target in this fishery. We target Dorado that range in size between 4 and 30 pounds however we have caught 40-pound fish.

The best adjective to describe this destination is “Trophy”. If you are looking to catch the Dorado of a lifetime a trip to Upper Parana is a must. This section of the Upper Parana is home to the largest Golden Dorado in South America. Every season, we land a handful of fish above 40 pounds!

The lodge is located on the upper section of the Parana River, approximately 90 miles downstream from the Yacyreta Dam. As a tail water, this stretch of river is known for its clear and stable water flow. Having these predictable fishing conditions is vitally important for the internationally traveling anglers.

The Fishing at Alondra’i

The best adjective to describe this destination is “Wild”. The mythical Golden Dorado (salminus brasiliensis) is clearly the main target at this fishery. Ibera provides daily opportunities to catch multiple Dorados that range from 5 to 10 pounds. However, there is always the possibility of catching Dorados from 20 up to 30 pounds. Waters we fish.

The Iberá Wetlands (Spanish: Esteros del Iberá, from Guaraní ý berá: “bright water”) located in north central Corrientes Province, Argentina, is one of the most important and largest fresh water reservoirs in South America. Estimated to be 5,800 – 7,700 square miles, it is second in size only to the Pantanal in Brazil. In 1982 the Ibera Provincial Reserve was created and protected 5,000 square miles of these wetlands, the largest such area in Argentina. Plans are ongoing to increase the area’s protection and hopefully in the future it will be granted national park status.

#Action

Ysoro Marsh + Mid section of the Parana River

Plenty of 2-6 pounds dorados and chances for bigger fish on the main river

6wt for the Marsh | 8wt for the River

Surface Patterns and Deceivers

Vampire Fish | Piranha | Pacú

No camps

Plenty of action inside the Natural Reserve

The Fishing at Jetu’u

The Ysoro marsh is located in Corrientes Province, North East Argentina halfway between the towns of Goya and Esquina. These wetlands are a product of a spillover of the middle section of the Parana River.

The main attraction of the area is the possibility to fish the marsh with surface patterns and deceivers. The marsh is a nursery for Golden Dorado, so here you will find plenty of action for smaller fish. Also, since the wetlands are connected to the midsection of the Parana River, you can target bigger water, for bigger fish.
