Fly Fishing Experience

Our Golden Dorado program combines two completely different fishing environments in a single week. Anglers spend three full days fishing at each lodge, with short charter flights connecting the destinations so you can travel quickly and easily without losing valuable time on the water.

Itati Lodge

The mythical Golden Dorado is the primary target in this fishery, with fish typically ranging from 4 to 30 pounds — and occasional giants pushing 40 pounds. Known as a true trophy destination, the Upper Paraná is home to some of the largest Golden Dorado in South America, producing several fish over 40 pounds each season. Located about 90 miles downstream from the Yacyretá Dam, this tailwater stretch offers clear, stable flows that create consistent and reliable fishing conditions for traveling anglers.

Alondra’i

The best word to describe this destination is “Wild.” The mythical Golden Dorado is the primary target here, and the Iberá fishery offers daily opportunities to catch multiple Dorado in the 5–10 pound range, with the real possibility of hooking fish from 20 to 30 pounds.

The Iberá Wetlands (Esteros del Iberá, meaning “bright water” in Guaraní) are located in north-central Corrientes Province, Argentina, and represent one of the largest freshwater ecosystems in South America. Covering an estimated 5,800 to 7,700 square miles, it is second in size only to Brazil’s Pantanal. Much of the region has been protected since the creation of the Iberá Provincial Reserve in 1982, preserving thousands of square miles of pristine wetlands and wildlife habitat.

Jetu’u

The Ysoró Marsh is located in Corrientes Province in northeastern Argentina, between the towns of Goya and Esquina. These wetlands are formed by spillover from the middle section of the Paraná River, creating a rich habitat that supports healthy populations of Golden Dorado.

The marsh is especially exciting for anglers who enjoy fishing surface patterns and deceivers, as it serves as a nursery for Dorado and offers constant action from smaller fish. Because the wetlands connect directly to the main river system, anglers also have the opportunity to fish larger water nearby where bigger Dorado can be found.
