Sending him all our love and good fortune as Vinny Mauri takes his next steps in life getting his Masters Degree at The University of Notre Dame while running for their track team. We are so grateful to have had Vinny at AZ Fly Shop and for the contribution he has made to the Arizona Fly Fishing Community. A bitter-sweet goodbye as we are so proud of him and will miss him dearly.
May East Cape Trip Recap
Once in a lifetime experience…
Last month (May 2023) we sent 8 anglers down to East Cape located in Los Barilles, Mexico. Chris Rich and Vinny Mauri from the team both had the opportunity to attend this trip and here is what they would like to share about their experience catching Tuna, Marlin and Rooster Fish from the boat and the beach.
From Vinny:
“Our trip to East Cape was full of excitement, opportunity and unforgettable memories. Being able to chase roosters from the beach, and many more species from the boat was a dream come true. Each and every expectation, from the elegant and authentic meals to the late night banter with friends peering over the mesmerizing sunset. Los Barilles became our home for a handful of days, and will always be a place that is talked about throughout our lives”

“Many species landed, great weather was enjoyed, good food eaten and mostly lots of laughs and relaxation.”
