It is hard to put into words how special the fishing and the experience is at No Name Lodge.
From the limitless amount of tarpon that are willing to eat just about anything to the massive
tailing permit on the reef, Puerto Rico is a first-class flats fishing destination. This fishery has
been a sleeper and historically has had very little fishing pressure resulting in an unmatched
fishing experience. The amount of tarpon and lack of pressure result in having some very
exceptional experiences such as hooking three fish on one cast and numerous double and triple
hookups.
After the incredible fishing, we returned to No Name Lodge. Not being a traditional style lodge,
No Name is a three-story condo in one of the nicest marinas in Puerto Rico. The relaxed
atmosphere and wonderful camaraderie make the accommodations feel like you are staying
with your close friends and family. Once you are back at the accommodations you can get
cleaned up before dinner and partake in feeding the Tarpon around the dock. If you have
already seen all the tarpon that your eyes can bare, you can settle for feeding the lodge mascot,
Davy Jones the beta fish. No Name truly makes you feel like you are home and will go out of
their way to accommodate whatever you want on your vacation.
No Name Lodge is a destination that should be considered whether you have saltwater fly
fished for decades or if this this is your first salt trip. The experienced saltwater fisherman will
be dumbfounded by the quality of the fishing while the novice angler will gain priceless
experience from the repetition of casting, feeding, and fighting so many fish. Fishing with No
Name Lodge was such a fun experience, I cannot recommend them enough. Only a truly
amazing operation could inspire everyone to get matching tattoos.
