We have an amazing community of fly fishers, and I love being able to spotlight a member each month. This month’s community member spotlight has real sense of adventure, joy and contribution; and she brings those qualities to wherever she shows up. When she shows up at the shop she always brings her sense of joy, adventure and contribution with her.
Meridyth is a gift to the world and we are lucky to have be a member of the AZ Fly Shop community. Thank you for being who you are in the world!

What does fly fishing mean to you? What about fly fishing offers you most satisfaction?
Fly fishing, for me, is a complete escape from the chaos of life. The locations are serene and visually stunning. I have fished in WY, MT, AZ and Cuba. It is a skill which must be patiently practiced frequently! I have found that the companionship, laughs, and new friends make the sport so worthwhile. The adventures are life changing.
What does having AZ Fly Shop in the community mean to you? What do you like about AZ Fly Shop?
Jill, Chris and Gracie are welcoming and instructive for fishermen of all levels. The equipment is top shelf and their suggestions have proved fruitful. The shop is always welcoming and reflect the Rich’s commitment to fulfilling individual needs and great advice for all skill levels. Their staff is always ready to help with a smile and great humor.
Tell us your most memorable fly fishing story
Fishing in Cuba with AZ Fly shop was an extraordinary experience. My daughter and I are new to fly fishing but made great friends with other members on the excursion, all in a beautiful environment. The hotel was clean, the food wonderful and the guides were not only helpful but also knew exactly where to go. We had a marvelous time.
Is there any advice you would share with the fly fishing community?
Merydith, you need to practice.
