The Dog Days of Summer
This time of the year is hard on our native fish, seeking higher elevation will be your best bet. The same tend to hold true for the lakes as the surface temps come up and the algae blooms begin to fight trout for oxygen they tend o go deeper. Fishing Your urban fisheris (as hot as they are) will be very productive for carp nd bass fishing but be sure to stay our of the sun and bring plenty of fluids if you decide to to fish locally. If you are hitting the mountains be sure to bring your stream thermometor and a sinking line for the lakes. Also be sure to call the local ranger station or reservation office for the best closure updates during forest fire season!
