Arizona Rim Country

Fishing Arizona’s Rim country is exactly how many of us start fly fishing in Arizona, including shop Owner Chris! This time can be reat to look for off color streams where fish may be less spooky, or trying your luck on one of many lakes with a float tube as well. Game and Fish does a really nice job of stocking the streams/lakes and an up to date stocking calendar can be found on the Spring/summer Stocking schedule they post on their website. Many of the creeks fish well with a dry dropper (hippie stomper, dry humpers, stubby chubbys with PT, smaller baetis nymphs, or attractor flies) or even a smaller streamer like the shops favorite Semi seal leeches, Meyers Mini Leech, or even Lance Egan’s Poacher. while fishing the lakes try fishing the Arizona tried and true lake streamers on a strip first (wooly buggers, leeches, smaller streamers) and if not, the balanced leech under an indicator is up.

Stop by the shop and ask us for any specific details!
