What does fly fishing mean to you? What about fly fishing offers you most satisfaction?

I have done many things in my life and have enjoyed all but nothing has ever given me the satisfaction that fly fishing does. It is not just the many aspects of the sport but the close friends made along the way. The fly fishing community is a very honest and generous one and I am blessed to be part of it.
All parts of fly fishing are enjoyable from the fly selection to the perfect cast but the tug is really the drug. And, the tug of a Bonefish trumps all!

What does having AZ Fly Shop in the community mean to you? What do you like about AZ Fly Shop?

I could go on and on here but will keep it short. The AZ Fly Shop is not just a very well stocked and run fly shop, it is a refuge for fly fishermen and women. I like to refer to it as an adult candy store and a place where one feels welcome and special. One can tell that the knowledgeable staff truly love their jobs and it shows.
However, most fly shops offer good gear and advice but the AZ Fly Shop goes one step further. It’s commitment to the community (homeless, for example) is unsurpassed and its generosity unmatched. Not many can make that claim!

Is there any advice or quotes that you feel everyone should hear?

Quote: “As long as it wiggles”

Advice: Always keep working to improve. One of the greatest satisfactions in fly fishing is becoming better at whatever you choose to work on. Never be afraid to ask for help because the fly fishing community is generous with their time and knowledge. I have received good advice from the AZ Fly Shop and would be remiss if I did not mention the Desert Fly Casters. All willing to share.

Is there anything else you would like to add or share with the community?

For those who are new to fly fishing or are thinking about doing it, it can be overwhelmingly scary. With so many avenues for instruction and mentoring do not let your apprehensions or insecurities stop you. A visit to the AZ Fly Shop would be a fine choice to start your journey into a world of great , life long rewards.
