Philanthropic Spotlight – June 2023

Meghan and Brian Riley attended the 2023 PANDA Fashion Show Fundraiser.  They were encouraged by the opportunity  to bid on a Winston Air 2 9ft 5wt donated by Winston Rod Co. on behalf of AZ Fly Shop!  Their son, Nolan Riley, fly fishing angler for 3 years now was the proud recipient for a combo Graduation/Birthday gift.  The Riley family says, we love giving to PANDA; “It raises awareness of rare childhood diseases and conditions that often fall through the cracks.”  The team of researchers that PANDA supports go beyond traditional resources and medicine to find cures and treatment for children.  Nolan says, “It feels good to know the Winston rod is amazing and it feels good to know he got it and it helped other children get well”.

The Riley family thanks Winston Rod Co. for their donation through AZ Fly Shop!  Without the combined benefit to PANDA and their love and gratitude for their son Nolan the Winston Air 2 would not be in their home…It is a work of art and comes with a big price tag.  Somehow making it a donation for a great cause worked its way into their family and will carry a story and be handed down for generations. 

Another Winston Rod has found a home and made a difference in the lives of its angler.  Here at AZ Fly Shop, we find great joy in bringing together the fly fishing community, being a part of giving back and putting big smiles on new and old anglers.
