Casting for Recovery – Arizona Retreat
The Casting for Recovery Retreat was such a special event. Fourteen participants along with many volunteers ascended on the Ranch at South Fork and X Diamond Ranch just east of Greer. On day one, they learned what trout eat, how to cast and tie flies and we ended the day fishing a private pond. On Sunday, 14 River Guide volunteers arrived and each one was paired with a participant to fish for the day. Everyone had a great time and there were so many meaningful moments and conversations. We ended the weekend with a banquet where each participant was gifted a rod, reel, pack, box of flies leader, tippet, etc and this was all made possible by AZ Fly Shop. The fundraising events that they do and the donations that they give, change lives. Thank you to YOU the fly fishing community for making this retreat a success. Because of the raffle and event donations we were able to provide all the participants with new gear, tools and flies for continuing their new passion of fly fishing. In addition, a special thank you to the volunteers who donated their time to be a 1:1 guide for each participant.
