2- Day Beginner Fly Fishing School
When registering for the 2-Day Beginner Fly Fishing School in the White Mountains, AZ, lunch will be included for school participants. All other meals and lodging are not included.
We have made arrangements for participants to book cabins on site at The Ranch at South Fork or you may arrange alternative lodging. Feel free to bring non-school members for your stay over Memorial Day Weekend! Please note: Non-registered guests who are staying at The Ranch at South Fork will be asked to not interfere with the school however can enjoy the property waters! (All stays will be from May 24-27 | 3 night stay)
2-Day School Curriculum
Day 1
8:00 a.m. – Meet and Greet
8:15 a.m. – Talk about gear needed for fly fishing
8:45- Fly lines, leaders and tippets
9:45 a.m. – Knot tying
10:45 a.m. – Casting instruction- learn pick up and lay down, false casting, stripping line
12:00 p.m. – Lunch (Provided)
1:00 p.m. – Casting Instruction- roll cast
1:30 p.m. – Hooking and Landing fish on a fly rod
2:00 to 4:00 p.m. – Fish the ponds on the property with guides (with an emphasis on how to catch a fish!)
Day 2
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Spend the entire day fishing the stream with licensed guides. you will learn how to read water, line control, casting in tight situations, all while working the stream.

Fly Fishing 101 with Cinda Howard

This full-day fly fishing school will teach you everything you need to know to get started. Taught by well-known Arizona Angler Cinda Howard, you will walk away feeling well-versed in the sport of fly fishing. A full day of classroom and hands-on instruction with lunch provided.
