Fish Arizona’s Canals for Carp!

The spring is one of the best times of the year to chase grass carp in the SRP canals. The water is warming up and the grass carp are getting more active. This is a great time to chase these elusive fish, before the summer heat overtakes Phoenix. The grass carp in the canal can be thought to catch; they are not aggressive feeders, and they are extremely spooky. Their diet consists of mostly vegetation, and they will also eat bugs. They seem to like chartreuse. It’s not the only color they eat, and it’s what they seem to like the most. They can be caught on dry flies, streamers and nymphs. We have a great selection of flies that work for the grass carp in the canals, and we have some great locations to chase them, as well. Stop by the shop and ask us for any specific details
